From Tony's Live Journal
My holiday,, Day 1,left home early got picked up by the coach in Fareham and drove to Dover, got on the holiday coach then across the channel to France then a 3 hour drive to Liegge in Belgium. Day 2,up early again, breakfast then on the coach for the drive acroos southern Germany, very dull untill we got near Munich and the scenary started to change, into Austria and onto Westendorf for our evening meal, beer was drunk, after dinner a walk around /Wesntendorf,very pretty into the village pub for some more beer,Kaiser lager. Day 3,after breakfast we had a wonder through the shops,I got loads of postcards went back to the hotel room and filled them all in and got them posted, onto the coach at lunch time for the short drive to Schwarz to visit the silver mine,it was described as a train ride into the mine, wella tree trunk with wheels describes it better but it was fun than a 2 hour walk around the mine to see how they worked in the old days, quite interesting, after this we went to the little town of Rattenburg famous for its glass and crystal wear, bought a couple of things had a coffee then back to the hotel for dinner(there was a spare pudding so the young waitress let me have it yum)after this we went bowling,9 pin, very fun my team lost but Paula turned out to be our best player after beating me in a playoff,it was not normal bowling, each bowl was different, one was backwards through the legs one was with a coin between the knees, one was like the opposite sex bowled and other such odd attempts,I won some viagra drink(have not had time to use it yet)popped into the village pub for a couple more beers. day4,after breakfast we drove down the valley to the town of Kitzbuhl, famous for its skiing facilitys, then a very scenic drive to the Krimmal falls, approx 400 mtrs in height, got a bit wet here but it was worth it,then another scenic drive back to the hotel stopping off a couple of times to admire views etc in time for dinner, after dinner we went down the valley to somewhere I cannot remember the name of to watch a show about tTirloean dancers, very much fun as the audience participate, then back home to bed Day 5,Off to the city of Salzburg today, going into Germany for a little time, walking the strrets and doing a bit of shopping very old and very pretty city this, very many police, never ever seen so many, they were needed later in the week when there was riots due to european monatary meetings,we opted to go on an afternoon tour around some lakes and stuff,in for a shock here as it was the sound of music country, had to endure Julie bluddy Andrews for two hours but the scenary was good and we also went to the church they got married in,,in the evening after dinner, which included beer and a half litre of red wine we went on a horse drawn buggey ride into the countryside, this was nice sitting out in a pub miles from anywhere drinking beer watching the sun go down, back to the hotel for bed Day 6,went for a drive around various valleys mountains and lakes today finishing up looking around a farm and buying some stuff from it,after dinner and yet another extra pudding went to the pub for some more beer and fun Day7,into Germany today to visit Berchesgaden and the famous eagles nest, this was Hitlers retreat in ww2,very high up in the mountains a long bus ride by the local bus then a 100 mtr + ride in a lift, the scenary was breathtaking,as was the rudeness of a fat american lady, shame she didnt take after the Americans we met later that night, after this we went to Konigsee lake, this was the most bueatiful lake I think I have ever seen,me and Paula got seperated so I took a few pics than wondered back to the bus to find her, then we wondered around the shops and got some souvinears, then back to the hotel for dinner, tonight after drinking my wine and beer there were 4 chocolate puddings going spare, and the young sexy waitress seeing me in some distress made me eat them all, after this we went down to the pub, there was an American youth band and chior visiting and gave a free show in the village hall, missed this which was a shame but a lot of the singers came into our pub and joined in the karioky?,much fun was had and they were so well behaved and didnt drink any alcohol, much better than the fat thing from earlier, then thier teachers came and took them away,my balcony overlooked a lot of those girls rooms,do they have curtains in America?also this night after drinking beer wine and pernod,I had 7 irish coffees, seemd a good idea at the time,,,,, Day 8,we decided not to go on the tour but go for a walk up the mountain, after no breakfast we took the cable car up,had to change at the mid point station for the ride up higher,we strolled around a bit meeting some big cows,I dont much care for big cows, especially the ones with the noisey cow bells on,and the mountain path is only a bout a meter wide at most in p[laces and when you have two staggering cows I feel its best to let them make thier way along first,we then strolled back to a nice little mountain side cafe for a much needed bite to eat and a bit of pudding,we sat and watched the paragliders take off for an hour or so before deciding to climb to the very top of Guggenkogele which is about 1886mtrs up,we signed the little mountain booked and stamped our holiday book before taking lots of snaps and stuff,I brought home a little bit of mountain in my rucksack, and then we had the exciting ride down in the cable car, back to the hotel for a bit of dinner and I had to force alcohol down tonight, then into the village pub for some more Day 9,up early into the cioach for the drive back acroos Germany to Belgium,in time for dinner. Day 1o,back into France for the ferry crossing to England then home, got some duty free stuff on the ferry,3 big bars of Toblerone and a bottle of Whisky southern comfort and malibu, mmmmmm, have not had any yet, once home Paula started looking for next years holiday,I just want to sleep and thats it.......
